Our Day With the Group
Loch LomondWe made a quick stop at Loch Lomond, which at first didn't have any meaning to me. But then Helen played the song that mentions the banks of Loch Lomond "where me and my true love will never meet again" and realized I did know the song!

Stirling Castle
Our guide, Helen really came alive as we got to Sterling Castle. She grew up in the area and we even passed her childhood home as we drove into town! It was clear that she adores this castle and I'd have to agree that I really enjoyed our time here. Helen guided us around several of the areas before we were given free time to explore and have lunch. We decided to maximize our time and have lunch at the café at the castle. Then we toured the different areas. What made Stirling Castle very different from Edinburgh Castle is that many of the rooms have been reconstructed to look as they would have back in the day with bright colored paintings. It really did feel like we were time traveling. We spent all of our time at the castle, and didn't get to explore any of the cute town. Guess we will have to come back again!

Our Last Group Dinner
And just like that, the tour was over and we found ourselves at the last group dinner. It had been a fun little circle around Scotland. Our dinner tonight was at the swanky Harry Nichols department store restaurant. It would have had spectacular views had it not been raining. We all laughed and reminisced about our favorite parts of the tour.
Dear Friends:
The Knights were in the castle today. Stirling Castle was a lovely surprise with reconstructed rooms that allowed us to imagine we had time traveled back several centuries.
It was our last full day in Scotland. Tomorrow I get to see my beautiful daughter!
