Our Day With the Group
Dogs, and Puppies, and Sheep! Oh My!This morning was my favorite activity of the whole trip. I am the kind of person who repeatedly on car trips will announce the animals as we pass them. "Oh, look! There are cows!" I just love seeing animals, so this was glorious to me! It was amazing as Neil, the handler, called and whistled to the dogs to direct them and control the sheep. We watched the dogs gather the sheep and spread them out. Then Neil chose one sheep to be sheared. He did most of the work with the shears, but let those of us who wanted to "help" have a turn with cutting the wool off the sheep. THEN...he let the puppies and lambs out! Some people got to feed the lambs bottles, while others of us cooed over the puppies. There probably should have been some sort of pat down/buddie check to make sure puppies and lambs weren't smuggled onto the bus. They were so cute!

Our afternoon: lunch, walk, and stroll around Inverness
We had a brief lunch stop before moving on to an afternoon walk. Today's walk was along a wide tree lined path. Helen and Ben rewarded our efforts with treats and whisky once we arrived at a lovely lake. After a brief rest, we all made our way back to the bus so we could move on to our next stop, Inverness. Helen offered an orientation walk of Inverness, that about half the group decided to participate in. She showed us the highlights of the town, and we strolled along the River Ness.

Our Free Evening
Helen left us off right in the center of town to enjoy our own evening. We debated for a minute about where to have dinner, but the Indian restaurant was the closest, so that became the winner. We discovered how much we enjoyed Indian food on the England tour several years ago. This turned out to be one of the best dinning decisions we made the whole trip. The food was FANTASTIC! It wasn't crowded and the servers were so helpful. After dinner, we basically rolled our way back to the hotel.

Dear Friends:
Just about a perfect day...sheep and dogs. (And puppies!!!) I was in heaven. I even got to help sheer a sheep! There might have been some more whisky and shortbread too, just to insure it being a perfect Scottish day.
